Operating continuity

Built around the facility's real operating constraints

The project path changes with the asset: production continuity for industrial systems, redundancy and commissioning discipline for critical cooling.

  • Ontario presence, integrated delivery

The Toronto and Newmarket offices connect GTA facilities to the same engineering, construction, controls, and service organization used across Quebec and Ontario.

  • One path from engineering to handover

Design, fabrication, installation, controls, commissioning, and service planning are coordinated around one project schedule and one set of operating constraints.

  • Industrial continuity planning

Loads, process dependencies, access limits, and cutover windows are documented before construction so the phasing reflects how the facility operates.

  • Critical cooling after commissioning

Commissioning records, controls trends, preventive tasks, and contracted response terms carry the cooling strategy into day-to-day operations.

How we work

Four steps from facility walk to supported handover

  1. Facility walk

A mechanical engineer reviews the plant or critical space, existing systems, loads, access, and operating constraints.

  2. Continuity and load assessment

We document process dependencies, cooling redundancy, controls, maintenance windows, and the conditions the design must preserve.

  3. Phased design-build

Engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and cutovers are sequenced against the agreed operating plan.

  4. Commission and support

The team verifies sequences and system performance, then aligns preventive maintenance and service-response terms with asset criticality.

Toronto and GTA FAQ

What plant and facilities teams ask first

  • Do you have teams in the Greater Toronto Area?

Yes. Kolostat lists offices in Toronto and Newmarket. Those Ontario locations connect GTA projects to the same design-build, controls, maintenance, and repair organization used across Quebec and Ontario.

  • Can one team handle both industrial HVAC and data-center cooling?

Yes. Industrial mechanical design-build and mission-critical cooling remain distinct engineering scopes, but Kolostat coordinates both through one delivery group when a campus or facility needs process HVAC, precision cooling, controls, piping, and commissioning.

  • How do you plan work around an operating plant or critical room?

The project begins with load and continuity assessment. Cutovers, temporary capacity, access, sequencing, and commissioning are then planned against the operating windows accepted by the facility team.

  • What data-center cooling work is included?

The established scope includes precision air conditioning, liquid-cooling strategies, chilled-water plants and distribution, redundancy, controls integration, commissioning, heat recovery, and preventive maintenance.

  • How are GTA service response terms set?

Kolostat has delivery presence through its Toronto and Newmarket offices. Coverage windows, escalation paths, and response targets are defined in the maintenance contract according to site geography and asset criticality; the project team confirms those terms before service begins.

  • What should we include in a quote request?

Share the facility type, existing system, current constraint, desired outcome, and any shutdown or commissioning window. The project team can then route the request to the right industrial, controls, or critical-cooling specialist.
